Personality: Not only is Proquess only a lowly drone, particularly small in size and build for her kind, and without the proper ambition or aggression in her personality, she is one of the despised white xenodragons, shunned and considered an abomination by many of her kind. These situations conspired against her to put her at the very bottom of her hive's hierarchy; there were not even the dim-witted burster xenodragons below her, for her particular hive was elitist enough to prefer sentient, egg-born offspring. Growing up the lowest of the low among her own family, Proquess is understandably shy, skittish, and submissive. She hardly knows how to survive on her own, without someone to direct her, protect her, find her food, or give her life purpose.

Though Proquess is intelligent in and of herself, quick to learn and innovative with her solutions to problems, she doesn't know how to make decisions of her own and so is easily flustered when offered them or asked her opinion. In fact, she would probably have a hard time even forming an opinion. She is easily cowed by confident creatures-- provided they are larger and louder than she, anyway. Like most of her kind, when it comes to smaller, more helpless creatures like humans, her impulse is to attack first and ask questions later, but she is also easily frightened and easily intimidated, so any show of strength, or even just bravado, is likely to scare her off.

It is possible that Proquess can rise above the submissiveness of her upbringing, move beyond the low rank of her birth, put the heavy claw of her long-gone queen behind her, and learn to think for herself. Even at best, though, it will take time.

History:  Proquess is an odd sort of xenodragon in the company she keeps. Namely, she keeps no company, for she is alone. Her hive, which had until fairly recently been constant in its presence, was largely destroyed when the small moon they'd taken up residence on fell under the mindless attack of a field of asteroids. Only four escaped on the asteroids, themselves: their youngest queen, her most faithful warrior, a young male drone, and, by some fluke of fate, lowly Proquess. They invaded the very first ship they came across, killing everyone on board, but couldn't figure out how to actually make the ship move, and so were trapped on board while it drifted.

When the ship's automatic distress call finally brought help, that help was prepared. While Proquess hid deep inside the ship, berating herself for a coward the whole time, her three companions were overwhelmed with the aid of magic, one of the few things which could actually restrain such a dangerous creature. In the excitement of the capture of a xenodragon queen, the first ship was abandoned, with Proquess left behind.

It took several more weeks for the ship to actually drift far enough to be caught in the gravitational well of the nearest planet, and several more for it to be be sucked first into orbit then, without control, drawn to crash on the planet itself. The planet was Dracania, and the nearest settlement that could send anyone to investigate the crash was Cy Dragonstake. When Proquess staggered from the wreckage, half starved, wounded-- albeit lightly, given the general toughness of even the weakest xenodragon-- and terrified of being without her protective hive, it was to meet yet another terror: more dragons, none of which were at all like her, and all of which were much bigger than she was!

Her "rescuers", a dragon-dragon bonded pair by the names of Sherra and Delith, set her up with her own dragon suite at the dragonry and, after her first couple weeks at Cy, set her up as a candidate at the Bipedra hatching. Proquess is attending without really knowing what she's doing, just out of obedience to yet another queen.

Magic: Like most winged xenodragons, Proquess can fly, swim, and wall-crawl-- or ceiling-crawl, should the need or the urge arise. Her body is virtually indestructible, though she is susceptible to magic and strong psionics. She cannot teleport, but she is very powerfully telepathic, more so than most of her kind: her psionics can penetrate the thoughts of nearly all creatures, and could possibly be used as a weapon, should she ever think to use it as such. This might well be one reason she was kept so low in the hierarchy, so she wouldn't ever think of what she could possibly do.
