Description: | Most women would kill, or at least pay
plastic surgeons a lot of money, to look like Deborah. She is
neither fat nor thin, being rather sensually curved, with rounded hips
and breasts paired with strong and shapely legs, but a fashionably
narrow waist and slender arms. Deborah is stunningly gorgeous, and she
knows it, showing herself off with clinging clothing or clothing
revealing expanses of naturally tanned skin, often both, and walking
with the casual grace of the beautiful. An attractive mouth bestows
smiles both promising and condescending and dark eyes beneath their
thick lashes can be languid or sharp. Her dark brown hair falls in attractive
tumbles of curls down her back, when she doesn't have it piled on top of
her head in a deceptively simple style, tendrils curling down to frame
the face of a Spanish angel.
In sharp contrast to her lush looks, Deborah is usually seen in some form of skirt-suit, dressed formally, as whenever she leaves her room she considers herself "on duty" as the indefinite stand in for the station's Public Minister. Only rarely-- when on a legitimately non-work related trip, for example, or when spending time alone with friends-- will she be seen dressed casually. Somehow, however, the business attire only accentuates her beauty. |
Personality: | Deborah spent most of her younger years as the epitome of night-club
hopping, self-confident, hedonistic feminists: she was out every
night-shift moving easily through the crowds of the various dance floors
scattered throughout the station, slept mostly during the day-shift,
and hated men. Perversely, she had a habit of sleeping with nearly every
handsome male she meets who was compatible and willing; while many would
call her hypocritical, she said that it was merely an expression of how
little she thought of men in general. There were exceptions, of course,
but on the whole, she deemed men as little more than sexual objects.
Other women she was quite capable of sharing intellectual conversations
and meaningful relationships with, as evidenced by her many girlfriends.
In the span of the past six years since she bonded, however, she has
grown up considerably, and only slips out for a night at the clubs every
now and then. Her dislike of men hasn't changed much, but she no longer
beds them nightly.
Though she is quite intelligent, Deborah tends to display a shallower self to people she doesn't know well and isn't interested in getting to know better. Her social mask is one of a cute, slightly air-headed girl with more interest in music, fashion, and sex than her real interests, like politics and tactics-- exactly the kind of woman she most despises, though she does have a few as casual friends. Behind the lowered lashes and languid smiles, though, she is quite astute and sensible, and it is really just lack of ambition and her pervasive prejudices that hold her back from greatness. |
History: | With a rich, influential father and a poor,
working mother, Deborah has grown up seeing both sides of life, and she
much prefers the rich and influential, despite her great respect for the
poor and working. Ever since her parents' divorce when she was six, she
has spent most of her time with her father, the station's Public
Minister, and an influential member of station and planetary politics-- in
fact, a hang-on of the former rule's nobility. Only for holidays do the
city courts allowed her to visit her mother for more than a few hours,
though she loves the dock-laborer and retired dragonrider dearly.
Living with her father, Deborah has been exposed to the twists and turns of politics and economics, meeting most of her father's acquaintances and associates. She finds both fascinating, though only as a hobby, as she has never wanted the kind of responsibility running her own business or running for office would take, even when she was very small. There were no dreams of wanting to be anything requiring responsibility: she was her daddy's little princess and would never want for anything. She did go through a phase where she wanted to be a dragonrider, like her mother, but she believes she has long outgrown such dreams. When she was thirteen, Deborah quite suddenly blossomed from a somewhat awkward, bookish, precocious little girl into a stunning, desirable, eye-catching young woman, aging several years in appearance over the course of only half a year. To her surprise, she found herself the object of many men's attentions, and for about two years, she reveled in it, innocently believing herself loved. After that, she quickly began to realize that it wasn't love that brought her lovers-- just sex. That revelation very quickly soured her towards men in general. For another year, she held herself aloof, spending time with girlfriends and her family. Then, at sixteen, she discovered dance clubs, alcohol, and the joys of casual sex. It didn't take much rationalization to decide that giving the men what they wanted wasn't giving in, if she did it while holding them in contempt and for the sole purpose of her own pleasure. Deborah was, after all, quite interested in her own pleasure, whether it be on a dance floor, in a bed, or in a book. Since then, she has been something less than discrete, taking whoever she deemed attractive and willing into her bed-- causing a few rather messy affairs and more than a few street-fights over her, much to her straight-laced father's dismay-- and has spent her time mostly doing nothing productive, also to her father's dismay. When she was twenty-one, Deborah discovered Avengaean dragons and fell in love with them, and promptly went to bond one: Purpura Cerex, an Earth with a love of both sporting and intellectual activities and a rather sensible outlook on life. Bonding helped Deborah take steps towards maturity that was more than physical, and became the real reason she gave up her unofficial title of queen of the night life, finished her degree at last, and started taking an interest in what she was going to do with her future. It wasn't ambition that led Deborah to take over her father's position as Public Minister-- temporarily, of course, while his newly bonded dragon grew up-- but she found, to her mild surprise, that she rather likes the position. When her father finally declares himself no longer a "new dragoner", she just might try to talk him into retiring from politics officially, so she can keep his job! |
