| Description: | Zabeth Firestone is an unusual creature, to say the least. Its form is that of a massive, only slightly anthropomorphic bird-- its legs are slightly elongated and thickened, and coated with feathers rather than scaly skin, and its wings have a few blunt fingers and a pseudo-palm each, for holding things-- with a surprisingly flexible beak and pure white plumage, from tail feathers to crest. During the three months of summer, however, it is a radiant creature of flame and heat, a massive and beautiful firebird, and female in form and function. Its fiery feathers only burn if it desires to burn with them, otherwise only throwing "false sparks" or avoiding burnable surfaces like living things or an extension of Zabeth's body. During the three months of winter, however, its flaming plumage takes on an icy, spectral hue, its fire turning into ghostly flames that can freeze rather than burn. During these winter months, Zabeth is male. The months between show it in various states of transition, forever changing between physical and spiritual fire. No matter how far into each state Zabeth is, its eyes remain the same: deep and ancient black, lit with flickering embers of gold. |
| Personality: | An old soul, birthed from the power of a
far-distant sun and guessed to be as old as many of
the stars in the Nexus universe, Zabeth Firestone is
one of a rare and ancient breed, and it acts like it. Male or female,
burning or freezing, Zabeth is a logical person, and it likes to have
things in its life to be predictable. As it has been around for
millennia, of course, not much surprises it, so having life be
predictable is not particularly difficult. It has a deep appreciation
for beauty, particularly musical-- the song of a firebird is, after all,
one of the most heartbreaking and beautiful ever heard-- as well as for
learning of any kind. In its long life, it has made a quest of learning,
traveling from world to world and learning all it can there-- and
inspiring many a legend, in the process-- before moving on.
Currently, Zabeth's learning project is an attempt to understand two things: first, and more simple, the growing phenomenon of dragon bonding; second, and more general, the variation of dragonic bonding personalities and species. It's first venture into this lesson is Zamah-aisi, and already it thinks it might have made a mistake. |
