| Personality: | Living alone, outcaste from the main of Asandus society, it is hardly surprising that Aleusa has grown into a nervous, shy, and mistrusting individual-- but she is not a weak individual. Though at times she seems to have no sense of self-worth at all, there are other times when she is as fierce as a lion in protecting herself and what she claims as her own. She is naturally inquisitive and had no problem asking questions-- making demands for information, even-- of people she trusts, though she is not particularly scholarly. At this point, in fact, she does not even know how to read. She is a very active person, rarely holding completely still, and likes to keep busy. |
| History: | Born as one of the first wave of New Cascatans, to a very
isolated pod of Old Cascatans, no one knew exactly what Aleusa was upon
her birth. The typical Cascatan mistrust of half-breeds kicked in, and she
and her mother were exiled, who had no idea that she was simply a mutation
and not some strange, half-breed monster. Not even her father, a leading
mage of the pod, believed her mother's insistence that she had been
faithful to her mate.
When her mother died, many years later, on the tridents of an angry daemon clan, another outcaste-- this one the daemon Vinam, banned from the very same clan that orphaned Aleusa-- took her in, raised her, protected her, and taught her everything she knew. The two of them have their own territory staked out under the waves, including a small reef, that Aleusa protects with magic as well as Vinam protects with her weapons. |
