Description: | Though he can take a small variety of
forms, and is quite ready to shift to suit his surroundings, Pallor is
most at home in his halfway form: an anthropomorphic dragon, standing
just under six feet, slender almost to the point of gauntness, with skin
so pale as to be completely colorless. From head to foot, clothing and
all, Pallor is monochrome: his skin is white, his hair is gray, his
clothing is black and gray, and even his nails are gray. The only spots
of color on him at all are his eyes, which are an eerie gold.
When in full dragon form, Pallor is still white all over, with gray claws and a thick mane of gray fur running all the way down his back, from nose to tail-tip, and he has flesh, not scales. He looks more emaciated in this form, and often half-hides his body with his thick, black, shaggy wings. Pallor is at his most handsome in human form, with a marble paleness to his skin, a perfect complexion, and masses of smoky hair framing a long, attractively-planed face. Even his gold eyes turn into something warmer, enticing rather than warding. Most people will notice something strange about him, and might even pick up that "something strange" is more like "something wrong", but when he smiles his best smile and makes an effort at charm, even the discerning people can be tempted to forget their concerns. |
Personality: | It is not kindheartedness that drew Pallor
to the spirit that is Constantine. In fact, Pallor has never exactly
disclosed just what it is that drew him to Constantine.... He is not a
kind, selfless, protective vampire; rather, he is a cynical, sardonic,
and casually cruel vampire. There is rarely something Pallor does that
does not have at least one hidden agenda to it, if not several, in
addition to the "stated" reasoning. Yes, he chose Constantine
with the intent of protecting him-- but there are several other reasons,
as well, which he does not care to discuss with the spirit. As he calmly
boasted on the day of his "birth", he is very practical, not
one for dramatic flair unless there is a particular need for it. In
fact, his quiet voice, silent step, and undramatic nature can make him
seem even more frightening, at times, than involved speeches and showers
of shadow. He has no qualms about bypassing the drama and cutting right
to the heart of a matter, if it suits him to do so, giving the object of
that matter no time to try to wriggle out of the bind he or she finds
himself in-- or herself in.
However, that quiet voice, silent step, and undramatic nature can also produce quite the charming aura, if it suits him to do so. If there is no purpose to causing fear, and there is purpose to a smile and charisma, he will usually chose the latter. The fear can come later. In fact, he takes a cruel kind of pleasure in seducing and charming the unwary, making them pay for their naivete later, when he has them where he wants them. In many ways, Pallor is a sadist to the core, even when it comes to his chosen bond and protectorate. It is certainly entertaining to let whatever demons haunt Constantine to follow at a distance, and watch the spirit twitch. His sense of humor is, after all, just as dark as the rest of his personality. |
Abilities: | Like many true, living dragons, Pallor can teleport, fly, and speak mind-to-mind with his bond. Like some true, living dragons, Pallor can speak aloud and shape-shift, his shifting extending anywhere along the spectrum of full dragon to full human-- though there always seems to be something off about his full human form, though others who see him will probably always be unable to put their finger on just what it is. Because he is a vampire, however, he has unnatural strength and speed, and regenerative abilities, in exchange for not having a heartbeat or living blood flowing through his veins: he must take blood from others in order to survive. His fangs, usually hidden by another act of shape-shifting, only extend when he is hungry or he wishes to feed. Also, he is unable to stand sunlight, moving about only at night or on days of thick clouds. Because of the type of vampire he is, he can quite literally turn up his charisma and charm the unwary, as well as summon servants in the form of hellhounds, or small dragon-like creatures, which can move about in sunlight, though he cannot. The amount he can summon and control has never been fully tested, though the number is likely to be very high, as he currently has three bonded to him permanently, a high number for his kind as constant servants. |
