As long as I've got work to do, I'm happy.

Description: | The first thing one usually notices about Beod is that his left front leg has been replaced by a cheap, synthetic limb and shines dully metallic. The second thing one usually notices, if one is from Earth anyway, is that he looks like a robin: in the main, he is a coffee-with-cream sort of brown, but his entire underside, from chin to tail-tip, is robin's-breast red. Rachel's nickname for him, in fact, is Robin, or if she's feeling whimsical, Harbringer of Spring. He is a bulky dragon, built up from first being on the police hit-squad, and more recently, hauling heavy items at the docks. The reason he left the police force is obvious: the metal replacement limb is of such low quality that he has a decided limp and reduced speed, and his right hind leg drags slightly, due to spinal damage. His green eyes still hold a smile, however, and he hasn't lost his peace about life in general, resisting the bitterness many in his position might feel. |
Personality: | Beod is, for the most part, the gentlemanly type, always polite, friendly, and respectful to others. He has his moments of temper and self-pity, as does anyone, but he keeps them between himself and his bond at all times. Though he misses his job with the police force, he has enough pride-- and perhaps what he has being amplified by Rachel's-- to refuse attempts at charity, offering him funds for a better replacement limb or reconstructive surgery on his back. If they can't raise the money themselves, between himself and Rachel, then he'll live with what he's got, and learn to like it. He still has his friends among the dragonic complement of the force and out of it, being a fairly sociable beast, and he has enough work to keep himself occupied. His only worries are about his bond, who he thinks works too much and doesn't have enough friends. |
