Personality: | A clever dragoness but not a particularly
nice one, Satasha is the "evil" on Lant'ien's bonding
equation. She cares little for anyone but herself, and bonded Lant'ien
because she was attracted to the "nothingness" inside him,
rather than out of any desire to help him or out of any liking for him,
personally. Though not particularly ambitious, she still basks in the
power of not-power that is Lant's magic as if in the presence of
something enjoyable; someday, perhaps, she thinks she might find a way
to use it for herself, but no ideas have been forthcoming, and she is
content to wait; patience is virtue she has in abundance. It is,
perhaps, the only one she has.
Because of her "reason" for bonding, then, she is not in the least bit jealous of Lant'ien's other bond. In fact, she tends to ignore Zentiel whenever she can get away with it, and be condescending when she can't get away with ignoring him. She finds the half-Avengaean obnoxious but not in the least bit threatening. All would be well with Satasha, though probably not Zentiel and Lant'ien, if that were the end of matters. Unfortunately, it is not the end of matters. Rather, she is coming to find that she was attracted to more in Lant'ien than just his un-magic: she is coming to find that she likes him, as a person. That she is growing to actually like and be protective of the youth somewhat disturbs her, and so she tends to act as much as if she didn't care as she possibly can. Lant'ien isn't even entirely aware of how she really feels, and Zentiel certainly has no idea-- and that is how Satasha intends to keep it. |
