| Description: | Short, for her kind, but compactly built, Caathyn aLlaanmuu is mostly muscle and strength, though with enough curves to be attractive in body. Her face gives the impression of strength, as well, with sharp planes for cheeks and a forehead, a brief nose, and a stubborn mouth and chin set in a strong jaw, framed by auburn hair bobbed short for convenience's sake. Her ears and her fingers are the most delicate things about her: the former long and upswept, the envy of any elf and decorated with piercings, cuffs, and chains; the latter are long but powerful, encased always in metallic-looking yet amazingly flexible gloves. No one could mistake her slightly alien face, outstanding ears, and thick, leathery, cool gray skin for humanity. |
| Personality: | Caathyn had high expectations of herself
and anyone she works with: she expects the best, and she usually gets
it. Though she can be harsh, she has a good heart, and a strong sense of
justice. She can be very stubborn, and her high expectations and
black-and-white perspective tend to make her a somewhat prickly
personality who has difficulty making friends, but she can win the
loyalty of anyone who works with her because she is loyal to them, in
return. Anything beyond working relationships, though, she tends to have
trouble with.
Perhaps Caathyn's worst fault-- and, at the same time, one of her greatest strengths-- is her understanding and use of expediency rather than compassion. It isn't that she isn't capable of compassion, for she is, but more often than not, she sees someone was right, or wrong, and once someone is placed in that "wrong" category, she will stop at nothing to see that wrong is punished, even if she has to do that punishing herself. At times she can pursue a trail long after it has grown cold, with a fearsome obsession to see justice done. Sometimes she even manages to pull it off, as well, though usually she and whoever she has working with her have to sacrifice much for her stubborn ferocity. It is those tendencies, combined with her imposing her high expectations on others, which lost her, her husband. |
| History: | Caathyn is, currently, part of only half a
Hunter group, which normally counts for six. Her last Hunt, though
ultimately successful resulted in the death of two and the loss of a
third, her own husband, Aavayl Vraanabotha. Since then, she has refused
to return to her home-planet and has been in search of a new Hunt that
the three left on the ship could handle alone. The idea of returning
home to Llyr aRraanor both galls and hurts, because she doesn't want
Aavayl to think she is returning for his sake.
The remains of her Hunt are both strong and loyal, but not the most honest or esteemable of characters. Caathyn trusts them, however, having long ago placed them in the category of trustworthy, so for the most part they don't cause her any trouble, in return for that trust. She is a good captain and an even better Hunter, so they stay with her, knowing there will be adventure to come and heads to roll. |
| Abilities: | Caathyn's abilities are all perfect for her Hunter Captain position. Magically, she can track, she can scry, she can sense strong emotion, and she can see into the past to discover escape routes and exactly what happened at a scene or to a person. She can use crude attack and defense magic, though she prefers good, solid technology, particularly guns and heavier firepower. Physically, she keeps herself in excellent condition with the same obsession she tracks her marks, and though she isn't particularly fast, she is very strong for someone as short, comparatively, as she is. Mentally, she isn't exactly book-smart, but she's well-experienced and cunning. |
