Description: | Asuliz R'mazahes was hatched different from
his parents in appearance, and is fairly unique among followers of the
Fallen. In his natural state he actually looks more like a supernal than
an infernal, with thick, cool gray fur and a volumous mane in darker,
charcoal gray that has only gained in fullness the older he's grown. His
wings are feathered, and his horns a supernal's curved gold. They are
not, however, the coiled ram's horns of a true supernal, and he has no
golden armoring on his wings. Infernal spikes and oversized claws,
bright red eyes that, though minus the typical infernal glow, are
obviously not the deep blue of a supernal, and a distinct underbite all
mark him as a corrupted supernal, not quite of either species.
In his other forms, however, Asuliz easily passes for fully supernal. His lion form, which he likes quite a bit but rarely has the opportunity to use, is strictly leonine, with no imp-like oddities to deter from the purity of a supernal's shape-change. Though he has various humanoid forms, collected throughout the years, his oldest and most favorite is purely human: solid and sturdy of build, muscled like a fighter; with a square, open sort of face surrounded by a thick mane of untamed, steel gray hair; dusky skin; and usually a thick, salt-and-pepper moustache. It is but a small shape-change to hide his red eyes in either form, but one he uses often, preferring amused-seeming gray eyes, with enough of a blue tinge to fool most supernals who might see him in passing. In human form, his clothing varies wildly depending on his mood, his current role, and who he is with, from wildly flamboyant to comfortably conservative to even plain, though even at his most exotic he prefers exotic cuts to bright colors. The only bright colors he is ever seen in are red and occasionally white. |
Personality: | To his so-called kin-- or to those who
actually know who and what he is, which aren't really all that many--
Asuliz is considered... strange. For one thing, while many a common infernal is obvious
about causing chaos and wreaking havoc, Asuliz is sneaky, clever, and a master
manipulator, quite different from the average infernal. Though this
could be because he is just more clever, or far older, than other
infernals, it could also be because Asuliz is one of the rare
ancients who still has many of the traits of the infernal's ancient
roots: their deadly enemies, the supernals. He is among the oldest left
on the side of the Fallen, and among his highest-ranked generals as well
as his personal spy.
The oddity could also be because Asuliz is not... entirely... evil. Most of the time, he seems to fit the mold of Chaotic Neutral best, though he often surprises those who think they have him pegged. He is arrogant-- one couldn't possibly be in such a position as Asuliz's and not be arrogant-- but he is not proud, and he tends to come across with an oddly jovial aire in his arrogance. Of course, he can be devious and often cruel, though remarkably not self-serving for a highly ranked infernal, but there is doubt as to whether this is an act or how he really is-- few really know. He has a strange sense of honor in some things, particularly loyalty, and he seems to see them as their own reward. His loyalty to the Fallen, for example, has been given since shortly after his hatching, and he seems to pride himself in it. He is, perhaps, slightly masochistic, enjoying the thrill and clarity of pain rather than going out of his way to avoid it, and he enjoys diving into a bad situation and seeing what happens: will he save the day, or cause disaster? Asuliz is quick-thinking, and very good at reading others and acting on what he sees. Acting, period, is something he has cultivated excellence in due to his purpose to his master, the Fallen. Most of what others see is an act based on what he thinks will best achieve his goals, even when he's "acting" like himself. His position as a spy and general is a silent one, to most infernals, and rarely do they see him when he is not in a completely different guise and role. He has two main roles he plays often, and both have the same basic theme to them. One of those "roles" puts him lesser to other infernals, spying on his own people, and he generally acts somewhat creepily submissive, as if he's planning something nasty all the time for his so-called superiors. The other is ranked above other infernals, being a symbol for increased motivation and possible reward-- or punishment-- and predictably embodies everything an infernal expects of him: power, pride, fury, fire and flashing teeth. |

Abilities: | Because he is so close to Supernals in
blood and appearance, Asuliz's abilities are also largely supernal in
scope. His breath weapon is lightning, he can size shift like a
supernal, he shape shifts into both human and lion forms, he teleports
via planes shifting, he is immune to fire damage, and he claims control
over a divine element. The only real, wholly infernal abilities
he claims are mild fire powers and his own deviousness. Due to his
immense age and extended contact with the Fallen, he has slowly gained
other abilities, as well: color shifting and very mild shape shifting,
to disguise his true nature to either a supernal or an infernal; a
generalized resistance to magical and psionic attacks; and rapid injury
regeneration. His preference is hand-to-hand combat, whether with
bare hands or weapons, over lobbing spells at enemies or even shooting
from a distance-- it pertains to honor, of all things, as he desires to
present his enemy with a face rather than a distant form-- and he is
very effective in a variety of styles. Asuliz has been known to fool true supernals into thinking he is one of them due to his prowess with typically supernal abilities, and enough of a shape change to hide his spikes and reddened eyes. He has control over the raw element Spirit, affecting both the dead and living spirit, the unborn and the passed on, as well as the summoning of spirits. After millennia of practice and research, he is both adept and subtle in its use, and uses spirits of various elemental bents as servants and spies. His favorite use is to manipulate others via the living spirit, as manipulation at a Spiritual level is difficult to sense, though it is admittedly unreliable and those of strong soul or opinion can resist it. However, he does follow a code of honor even in his manipulation: all of the more blatant and powerful uses of his power are necessary for whatever his task to the Fallen might be at the time, rather than for his own benefit. He does not need to be directly ordered to manipulate, as the Fallen rarely gives direct orders and that waiting for them would be inefficient, but he only manipulates via his element for the good of his master and those close to him, rather than his own gain. |
