Personality: On the whole, Picker is a friendly and easy-going character, getting along well with others and especially good with children. She somehow manages not to lord her intelligence over others, only rarely talking over someone's head or excluding them from her thought processes, though she is extraordinarily curious and wants to learn as much as possible. However, when she takes a dislike to someone-- which has been known to happen, though not particularly often-- she holds that grudge to the grave, being rather stubborn about her opinions unless someone can prove them wrong with enough empirical evidence. She has remarkably healthy self-esteem for someone who used to be a slave, and refuses to be argued down if she's sure she's right. At times, she can be downright feisty, when it comes to debate. She prefers to be busy than idle, and has trouble, sometimes, understanding how others can be so lazy.
History: Picker was modeled after a true enkeyn of the rainforest persuasion with a few obvious additions, all meant to help her at her job: before she was liberated and brought to Kenist Miana, she worked in a merchant's warehouse, "picking" orders from among the boxes. It was, to someone with her skills, a very dull and simple job, but because she was so good at it, she was treated well. A few of her co-workers even acknowledged her sentience-- after all, learning their language wasn't difficult at all-- and tentatively counted her as a friend, and she still keeps up contact with one or two of them.

Once rescued and taken to Kenist Miana, Picker quickly threw herself into the rehabilitation, learning the enkeyn language in record time before tackling whatever other subjects she could find teachers for. Now, though she's still learning, she has integrated herself into the Sharian management in order to help with paperwork, helping out with child-care in her spare time.

Abilities: All of Picker's abilities are non-magical in nature; they are, instead, mental. Not telepathy, empathy, or other psionic abilities, however: her main talents are in her highly trained and innately excellent memory, and her creative thinking. She is extremely intelligent and never forgets anything-- though she can admit to overlooking things now and then!
