| Description: | In human form, Tavarez is thin and wiry, small and slender, with a pointed face and an even more pointed nose, small ears, and bright, black eyes. His hair is black and relatively thin, very straight and usually combed back from his face. There is something sly and quick about the way he moves that could be described as graceful, if one were being generous, or rodent-like, if one were not. His choice of clothing varies, but it is nearly always something comfortable, with muted colors-- though he does like to dress up on those rare occasions when he gets the chance! |
| Personality: | Most people like Tavarez immediately, whether
because of his natural charisma, his amiable nature, or his ability to fit
himself to whatever situation, conversation, or person he needs or just
wants to-- or all three and then some. He has friends everywhere, and if
he happens to arrive somewhere he doesn't have a friend, he is
quick to make one. He is highly adaptable, taking nearly everything in
stride-- within reason, of course. He might be easy-going and friendly,
but neither is he liable to stand aside and turn a blind eye when
injustice is being done or abuse if being meted out. However, he tends to
go about dealing with such things in a very round-about and unpredictable
fashion, coming to the rescue at the most unexpected moment and in the
most unexpected manner-- and usually with a cavalier attitude, as if it's
something he does every day and enjoys to the hilt. There is a definite curiosity about him, in that
he simply loves to know things, ask about things, and investigate things,
and has the determination-- or just the lack of other responsibilities to
distract or deter him-- to get to the bottom of things he finds
interesting or necessary. That curiosity, and determination, is what makes
him an explorer instead of a simple traveler.
There are two very important quirks to Tavarez's personality. First, and most obvious, is that he fancies himself somewhat like a dragonless Searcher. Because he travels so widely, and has so many friends, he is always up to date on clutches, flights, and other such things. During his travels, he runs across many people, and a large number of those people end up directed to one of those clutches to bond. He has a powerful intuition about who would make a good candidate for what, and he is not afraid to act on that intuition, even if he has to track down the candidate or rescue him first. That intuition extends to pets, as well, and he is known for pairing people up with pets, as well. However, he always makes a point of avoiding hatchings themselves, as if unwilling to bond, himself. The second quirk is less obvious, and more amusing: Tavarez has an intense love of collecting. He doesn't even care what he collects, he just does so. It borders on obsessive-compulsive behavior, but doesn't quite pass into dysfunction. Nevertheless, he has a cache of collected things on nearly every world he's visited, and those collected things could range from rare and expensive to common and worthless. He has artifacts and junk, collected alike, and it is largely those things-- when he can bear to part with them, anyway-- that fund his constant travels. |
