"You said that already. Six times."

Hair: Platinum blonde, chin length, straight, and thin
Skin: Very pale, but healthy enough
Eyes: Dark blue, fairly large
Relatives: Mary Saint Clair (mother), Saul Saint Clair (brother)
Place of Birth: Zion, Earth
Description: Magdalena is a scrawny girl, bony and long of limb, but with very little flesh to her. Her face is oblong, with hollowed out cheeks that speak of not quite enough to eat and round, dark blue eyes lined with sparse, white-blonde lashes. Lining her pale face, giving it just a little color by comparison, is hair of a platinum blonde, thin and lank and worn just to her jaw-line-- her worst feature, in her own eyes, for she wishes every day that it were black and thick. A born Zionite, Magdalena has no plugs and thus cannot enter the Matrix, but she is adept at reading and manipulating the code from the outside, thus allowing her a position as operator on the Sangreal.

Magdalena's choice of clothing is black-- or as close to it as she can come, which means she is generally in an odd assortment of charcoals, midnights, and murky greens. Bracelets of variously poor qualities of steel click on her right wrist, but the only true items of value she owns and wears is a silver necklace twined with rare sapphires, gifted to her by her brother when she was much smaller, and an old dagger with a white handle that she privately thinks might be true ivory. The former she is never seen without, and the latter she is seen without most of the time, but mostly because she wears it in a sheath under her tunic.

Personality: As Mnemonic is her nickname, it is hardly a surprise to learn that Magdalena has an excellent memory, rarely forgetting a face, name, conversation, technical fact, or random bit of useless information. Despite her talent, she only barely tolerates the nickname, being quite attached to her own name and proud to bear it. She is very responsible, getting easily annoyed with people who cannot take seriously situations with the seriousness they deserve, but it isn't unheard of for her to crack a smile or laugh at a particularly funny joke, either.

Though she is proud to be a pure-blooded Zionite, Magdalena has always wished she could traverse the Matrix. Such is impossibly, however, so she keeps her wishing mostly to daydreams. Despite her serious demeanor and realistic outlook, Magdalena is very much a dreamer, filling her unoccupied time with imaginings about other places, other people, and other lives. Such is not to say she is particularly unhappy as she is, but she would like a chance at something more.

Magdalena's talents, other than her titanium-trap mind, include opping, small-scale mechanics, and light programming, the latter being a new hobby which she is slowly gaining confidence in. Also, perhaps oddly due to her quiet nature and seeming physical frailty, she is very good at the drum and flute-whistle, both of which she enjoys demonstrating for temple gatherings. It's much more interesting to create the music and watch everyone else than to actually dance, after all.

History: Magdalena is a rarity among humans in the current day and age: she is a fourth-generation, live-born Zionite. Her great-grandparents were among those chosen to rebuild Zion after its last destruction-- so it is possible she is more than fourth-generation, but no one has any way of knowing, since no one is even aware of Zion's previous "incarnations" anymore. So, no one in her family at least since then has been a part of the Matrix, which is really a feat, one which Magdalena is very proud of.

However, since then, no on in the family has ever been in Zion's military or reconnaissance teams, until this generation. Magdalena's older brother, Saul, was the first, and Magdalena herself followed in his footsteps two years later, once she was old enough. Her elevation to operator is a very recent development, as she only had the opportunity to show how well she knew the code of the Matrix and could arrange exits six months ago, when a foray required all able crew members to participate, leaving only Magdalena herself able to hold down the fort on the ship. Her performance was admirable, and she was quickly transferred to the Sangreal, a ship who was in need of an operator. She has been working there for four months already, and is proud of her station despite her youth.

Even before joining the military, Magdalena had heard rumors of a new trick the machines were playing on humans, a new world in the Matrix and a new breed of control: Infusco Vere and mechanical dragons. This, of course, set her imagination running wild with images of the magical pocket of the prison-world and the supposed dragons that inhabited it. Other than daydreams, however, she didn't give the rumors much thought-- it didn't make a lot of sense, after all, the machines going to so much effort for what couldn't be equal gain. There were always rumors flying around Zion, and rarely were any of them true.

However, when a childhood friend, Derfegertz or just Derf for short, disappeared just after Magdalena found her own way onto a military crew to join a rouge crew on a ship called the Dragonchaser, the rumors began to seem a little more substantial-- if a little incorrect. Magdalena knew Derf quite well, and didn't think she would be fooled by mechanical dragons or madmen, nor would she join a very independent, barely-supported crew just on a whim-- even if it did sound very exciting. Something was funny, and it drove Magdalena nearly wild with curiosity, but since she had very few chances to contact Derf, she has yet to actually find out what the truth really is.
