| Personality: | This is one of the duality children who is
the most at odds with each other, though they do not argue, they merely
disagree and make each other unhappy. After all, Jantan (blue, male) and
Betina (pink, female) are the incarnations of some of the most prominent
of male and female stereotypes, and those stereotypes do not interact
well together, not as conjoined siblings. Jantan is tough, coarse,
leaderly, tends to violence, and never comes across as vulnerable; he
loves women, tools, beer, and succeeding at work. He is the center of
his social circles, and is admired by his peers, though his home life
probably would leave a lot to be desired, if he had one. Betina, on the
other hand, is meek, docile, overly emotional, and never does a jot of
work outside of menial chores: the only occupation she could ever call
herself is homemaker, or perhaps mother. She is timid and obedient to
males, and when given the opportunity to socialize, only does so with
other females. Her only real desire for life is to have children, and
sons at that: big, strong sons to make her mate proud. Whether she's
capable of having children without Jantan immediately putting a stop to
any such advances remains to be seen.
Normally, Betina would be the type of woman Jantan would most like, but since she is his sister-- and connected to him in the most literal way possible-- she is thus not only out of bounds sexually but safe to be called extremely annoying, as well. Her constant timidity gets on his nerves and her desire to spend time with only other females obviously curtails on time he could use for more interesting pursuits-- though he has a time or two banked on this aspect of her sociality in an attempt to pick up women. Not that he would get any action with them, since he'd be dragging his sister around with him, of course. Still, he does care for her, and is protective of her in the way any big brother would be towards his little sister... he just doesn't get many opportunities to show it. For Betina's part, people she would normally want to spend her time with feel nervous with Jantan's crass presence, all of the people he would want to be his friends make her nervous, and she finds all his pass-times either confusing and well beyond the scope of her own interests, or offensive and disturbing. Her desire to take a mate and give him children will probably never be realized, and she knows this, because of him. Yet she almost always gives in when he wants to do something, and she even admires him in a miserable sort of fashion, because he is the man and thus is obviously the one better suited for making decisions. Right? |
